The best afternoon tea in Manchester

Afternoon tea at King Street Townhouse honours one of the very best of British traditions - perfect for celebrating a birthday, engagement, or a 'just because' treat. Our Afternoon Tea Lounge is a slice of calm in Manchester's city centre and a peaceful spot to sit with a coffee while watching the world go by. Our Pastry Chef at King Street Townhouse mixes curiosity and seasonal inspiration to continually reimagine our afternoon teas with a modern yet luxurious spin. Afternoon tea served: 7 days a week | 12 – 6pm

Afternoon tea at King Street Townhouse is a memorable Manchester experience. Our Traditional Afternoon Tea menu centres around timeless British flavours of the season and serves up generously sized portions. From savoury sandwiches to fresh scones (accompanied by Cornish clotted cream and strawberry preserve, of course), the real stars of the show are our exquisite pastries and cakes that almost look too good to eat. Upgrade your afternoon tea with a glass of champagne, Laurent-Perrier, Brut.

The High Afternoon Tea is King Street Townhouse’s alternative option for those with a more savoury tooth - think Orzo Fritters, Cheddar Croquettes and Lamb Belly Fritter with Mint Gel. Still served in our dedicated Lounge, alongside our extensive tea selection, expect cheese and chutney instead of scones and cream.

The world’s most awarded luxury tea brand, Newby was founded in London at the turn of the millennium.

The tea leaves used are among the finest available. Only first and second flush leaves, those picked in prime season from March to July go into Newby products. Newby prides itself on delivering a premium brand and the best teas available globally. Fulfilled only owing to a devoted and discerning process from field to cup, which Newby like to call, ‘the craft of fine tea.’
